Breakthrough in 3D Bio printing Innovation: Scire Science Partners with SCTIMST for Revolutionary Bioink Technology

Scire Science Partners with SCTIMST for Revolutionary Bioink Technology

Scire Science Pvt. Ltd., a leading biotechnology company in Kochi, Kerala, has been spearheading research in 3D bioprinting for past many years, with a specific emphasis on designing and developing cutting-edge biomaterials.

In a significant leap forward for India’s biomedical sector, Scire Science Pvt. Ltd., has joined forces with the prestigious Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum (SCTIMST) to manufacture cutting-edge Bioink for 3D bioprinting applications.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dr. Sanjay Behari, Director of SCTIMST, and Dr. Jikku Jose, CEO of Scire Science, in the presence of key officials from both organizations, Mr Ketty Cherian, Dr Anil Kumar PR, Dr Shiny Velayudhan, and Dr Harikrishna Varma PR. This strategic partnership marks a major milestone in the country’s pursuit of innovative biomedical solutions.

Bioink is a specialized material used in 3D bioprinting to fabricate biological structures for research, medical, and therapeutic applications. Scire Science’s breakthrough bioink is composed of biomaterials that provide a scaffold for living cells to grow, differentiate, and form tissue.

The patented technology, commercially available as Scire Chitra GelMA UVS bio ink, is India’s first indigenous bioink designed for advanced 3D bioprinting. This UV-safe bioink is poised to revolutionize tissue engineering and regenerative medicine by enabling the creation of complex tissues, including those of the liver, kidney, pancreas, skin, brain, and heart.

This cutting-edge technology holds immense potential for reducing animal sacrifice in drug testing and research. By advancing the development of functional tissues, Scire Science is poised to open doors to new medical research and innovations that could greatly impact both research and clinical care.

“Our partnership with SCTIMST is a significant step forward in India’s 3D Bioprinting journey,” said Dr. Jikku Jose, CEO of Scire Science. “With this revolutionary bioink, we’re equipped to move ahead in bioprinting and make a meaningful impact on regenerative medicine and personalized healthcare.”

The collaboration between Scire Science and SCTIMST underscores India’s growing prominence in the global biomedical landscape. As Scire Science continues to push the boundaries of bioprinting innovation, this breakthrough is expected to have far-reaching implications for the healthcare sector.
