A fresh report suggests the creation of an OnPlus 12R, a scaled-down version of the OnePlus 12. The phone could be available in China in December or early January 2024.
Following that, there would be a global debut, including India. In the following months, OnePlus will also release its first folding smartphone, which will most likely be branded the OnePlus V Fold or OnePlus Open.
The OnePlus 12R 5G, according to MySmartPrice, will successor the OnePlus 11R and will include a flagship-grade chipset. The article also includes renders from prominent leaker OnLeaks. According to the renders, the OnePlus 12R resembles the present OnePlus 11 with a circular back camera module.
On the left, we can also see the alert slider for managing sound modes. The OnePlus 12R, like many other OnePlus smartphones, will include a hole-punch cutout in the front.
In terms of features, the OnePlus 12R may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which also powers the OnePlus 11 5G. The phone could have 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which is becoming a regular memory combination for OnePlus premium smartphones.
A 5,500mAh battery with 100W rapid charging is also mentioned. It is a unique battery size because most OEMs offer a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging to reduce charge time. A larger battery may also increase weight, making the phone heavier.
A 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera may be included in the rear camera module. The 12R 5G will reportedly have a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies.
Meanwhile, the standard OnePlus 12 may be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The collaboration between OnePlus and Hasselblad to optimise the rear cameras may continue.
