The MG Comet EV, the newest electric vehicle from MG Motor India, a division of China’s SAIC Motor, is currently the smallest car on the Indian market. The ultra-compact electric hatchback, which is based on the all-electric GSEV platform, advertises that it has a simple yet roomy design.

The second electric car in MG Motor India’s lineup, the Comet EV, will have a starting price of 7,98000/- (ex-showroom). Bookings for the EV will be available starting on May 15 and test drives will start on April 27.

Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director of MG Motor India, stated in our cities that the Comet EV is more than simply a car; it symbolizes our ambition to alter the way we commute. According to Chaba, the Comet EV, which is built on the GSEV platform for pure electric vehicles, is the first electric car to sell one million units worldwide.

The future of transit is electric and networked. We hope that the Comet EV would enable our consumers to make wise decisions without sacrificing convenience or flair, he continued.

The MG Comet EV was developed using the “Big Inside, Compact Outside” (BICO) design principle. The second row of seats in the four-seater EV may be adjusted 50:50 for more headroom and legroom.

A 12-Volt charging port and controls for operating the electric windows are included in the central console’s features. The Comet EV also has a 10.25″ head unit and a 10.25″ digital cluster with 55+ connected car capabilities and 100+ voice commands, along with a steering wheel integrated with futuristic pod-like controls. It also includes a smart key, which heightens the tech atmosphere.

The MG Comet EV is the perfect vehicle for urban commuters and EV aficionados in India thanks to its certified battery range of over 230 km on a single charge and affordable charging cost of 519 per 1,000 km.

A 17.3 kWh Li-ion battery with prismatic cells and higher cycle life powers the EV. The EV has dual front airbags, ABS+EBD, front and rear 3-point seat belts, a rear parking camera and sensor, indirect TPMS, and an ISOFIX child seat as standard safety features.

The Comet EV now comes in two additional special editions from MG Motor India: the Gamer Edition and the LIT Edition. In addition, the EV offers more than 250 decal and graphic options for customization.

The MG4 electric hatchback and the MG EHS plug-in hybrid SUV, which are now being examined for the Indian market, are two further vehicles that the business has unveiled.

The MG4 EV hatchback boasts roomy interiors and offers convenient driving thanks to its five different charging options, which include both AC and DC charging as well as a 12V portable charger. A strong petrol engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack are all combined in the MG EHS Plug-in Hybrid to provide maximum efficiency, power, and range.

With a combined power output of 258 ps, the hybrid can reach 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. To create a cleaner, greener future, MG Motor India is committed to changing how we travel through our cities.
