Currently in the works is Samsung’s second-generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is expected to be launched next month in July. Based on the new leaks, it is said that the new model will have a stylish design, which is evident in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, as opposed to the predecessor.
There are leaked images of what appears to be a real Galaxy Z Fold 6 shared by a new guarantee, Ice Universe, on the social media platform X. For the design, it has that boxy look on the camera rear that is reminiscent of the S24 Ultra One.
Another is the fact that the Z Fold 6 will come with a wider cover screen than the Z Fold 5. The cover screen is expected to be 6. 68mm, higher than the previous 6mm, a slight rise from the previous one was observed.
To make a long story short, it is even thicker than its predecessor and has a 2-inch cover screen, which shows more when the device is folded.
Besides the external and internal designs, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to have the following hardware enhancements.
It has been revealed that it shall be fitted with the Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy as the processor. It shall feature ten quantities of RAM and operate under the Android 14 platform.
These specifications were recently leaked in the Geekbench database under the model name SM-F956U, and the benchmarks manifest significant performance enhancements over the preceding model.
The new design will also be expected to bring change in the crease of the main display area so that it will not be that noticeable, which will further help give the device a better look and feel. One other design modification is the rework of the camera island, the intention of which is to better unify the camera module with the back of the housing.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to feature a titanium frame, thereby enhancing the body’s strength and offering a luxurious look. It is likely to be available in three color options: Dark blue, light pink, and silver, which are some of the magnificent wedding colors.
As for the battery, it is also expected to be 4,400mAh, and the charging speed is 25W so that the user can charge the terminal device as soon as possible.
Samsung is likely to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 6 at the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 10 in Paris.
This launch event will also likely feature other tier flagship devices since Samsung needs to entrench itself more in the emerging market of fold devices.
